FASTNET ROCK'S FOAL CROPS CONFIRM
SIRE'S COMMERCIAL POPULARITY
Tony Arnold - Monday 12th September 2011
...
Stryker is close enough to being a blood brother to Rothesay, the pair having the Mr Prospector horse Woodman as their damsire, and Stryker’s second dam Planet Hollywood being by Star Watch, a Golden Slipper winner by Canny Lad and Canny Lass’s sire Bletchingly.
Planet Hollywood, though, was foaled by Joy And Fun, in turn a daughter of Denise’s Joy - and there is no better family in the Australian Stud Book than this one, which has the outstanding mare More Joyous and the newly crowned champion sire of New Zealand, Thorn Park, as it two latest celebrities.
STRYKER - WHEN YOU'RE HOT!
Tara Madgwick - Friday, 2 September 2011
This sire is red hot and so are his sons. Fastnet Rock has hit the ground running at the start of spring posting three exciting three year-old stakes-winners in Smart Missile, Foxwedge and Amah Rock, so few would argue he is the sire of the moment.…………………………………………………….
Everyone is hot for 'The Rock', which explains why his sons are so in demand and why the Liston family of Three Bridges Thoroughbreds are so delighted they moved early to stand his brilliant son Stryker. A blue-blooded Group III winning sprinter, Stryker is embarking on his first season at stud for Three Bridges Thoroughbreds this spring at a fee of $11,000.
Stryker is from the royally bred mare Laetitia, who traces back to celebrated matriarch Denise's Joy, whose many star descendants include current champion mare More Joyous and New Zealand's reigning Champion Sire Thorn Park. The Liston family, in conjunction with Richard and Donna Pegum, are thrilled to be standing Stryker, who is set to be a permanent addition to the Victoria breeding industry. "He has all the qualities we could have asked for in a sire and we are encouraging breeders to stick with us as we will be promoting and supporting this stallion over the long term right through to the sale ring and beyond," said Peter Liston. |
